« on: February 27, 2011, 04:19:58 PM »
Has anybody ever done one of these for balancing? Does it even work? I cant seem to keep my tires balanced and im getting tired of running over to get them balanced everytime I rotate. :dontknow:

Thanks. I didn't want to go bust'n beads without some input. I'm not terribly out of balance just the annoying vibrating steering wheel.

I run down Ward and see what his take is.

Current thinking is to add 1 1/2 to 2 oz of antifreeze with the beads. It acts as a lubricant for the beads so they move easier inside the tire.

Saw that on another post. Ward did say that it does work. He used the airsoft beads.

Ok, pulled the trigger and did my front 2 wheels. Pulled 6oz weight off driver side and 8oz off pass side. I cant believe that it actually freakin worked. Crazy!  :woot:
I still have a little vib but that may be from the rear tires. They are next.

EDIT - Worse in the rear tires now.

I will be breaking my tires down tomorrow to put beads in them. I'm curious to see how well this works

I ended up taking them out, or rather vacuum them out. Went back with regular stick on weights.

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. I've got 6oz of beads in the front tires and the rears are balanced with stick on weights. I'm getting a little steering wheel wobble around 45. Well I was before hydro assist but I can still tell its there.

Well I tried to go get them balanced yesterday and the first tire he put on there was gonna take 7 oz on both sides so the guy was like I can't balance these. I went to usa tire. He didn't have any beads so I went to hesselbein and when I walked in told him the same thing and he was like there shouldn't be any reason they couldn't balance a 35" tire. Then I told him what tire I had and he quickly changed his tune as well.

On a side note, I had no idea it was so hard to even find someone that would put a 35 on there machine. Even called big 10, guess they'll put a 30" rim on there but not a 35" tire. The only places I found that would even attempt were usa, hesselbein, and ricks pro trucks.

What about weight patches inside the tire? Through my looking around last night I read this is what interco should be doing to all their tires. Im not real crazy about the idea of shaking my teeth out of my head everytime I take off from a stop, at least thats what I imagine happening
